We recommend training 1 teen MHFA Instructor for every 125 students.

To help ensure the lessons from MHFA last a lifetime, we encourage First Aiders to get recertified if they completed the Adult or Youth MHFA course three or more years ago. This keeps you aware of the latest insights on mental health and substance use challenges. You’ll always be ready to provide support to someone in your community who may need it.

Mental Health First Aid does not employ the Instructors it trains and licenses. Each licensed MHFA Instructor is free to set their own fees. Course fees vary for many reasons, including course type, Instructor qualifications, course venue, location and catering needs. Community grants may offer subsidies that also affect pricing.
