Training Process

When you take a Mental Health First Aid course, you’ll learn early intervention skills and apply them to real-life situations. Take a course in person or online — either way, you’ll be part of an evidence-based training program that works.

Mental Health First Aid Certification

Adults can get certified in Adult or Youth Mental Health First Aid, with community-specific courses available for a range of specialties:

Online or In-person Training

  • In-person — Learners attend a day-long in-person session led by an Instructor.
  • Blended — Learners complete a 2-hour, self-paced online course and then attend a half-day training led by an Instructor. This training can be held online or in person.

For Individuals or Groups

When groups take MHFA together, the results go further. Shared training builds an organizational culture of support, safety and awareness. It teaches people to look out for one another — and makes it easier to talk about mental health at work, in schools and in communities.
