More than 100 Mental Health First Aid Instructors meet to celebrate milestones

On Monday, May 18, North Carolina held its first Statewide Mental Health First Aid Instructors Summit.

More than 130 Instructors from across the state gathered to hear from Mental Health First Aid leaders and champions like Secretary Aldona Wos of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and Betsy Schwartz, vice president of public education and special initiatives at the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.

“We were so honored to have the opportunity to meet with these Instructors and thank them for their contributions to some big milestones we hit in the past year,” said Schwartz. “Training the First Lady, training more than 370,000 First Aiders across the United States, with 10,182 First Aiders trained in North Carolina alone—we couldn’t have done that without such a dedicated Instructor network.”
