In Susan Marine’s guest commentary (“Suicide as a major public health problem,” Dec. 20), she articulates the harsh realities of suicide in Colorado. She lists factors contributing to our state’s dismal suicide statistics, including shortage of funding for suicide prevention efforts, the lack of education for mental health professionals and the mountain of stigma confronting those who want help.
