How To #BeTheDifference in September

September is already underway and we’re continuing our focus on mental health at school as part of our #BeTheDifference campaign. Whether in the classroom or out, we know how critical it is for students, teachers and caregivers to take care of their mental health, especially during the stress of the school year.

Here’s how you can #BeTheDifference during the month of September:

  1. Join our #BeTheDifference Twitter Chat on September 21 from 2-3 p.m. ET.  This month we’ll be talking student-athlete mental health with Giants’ wide receiver and co-founder of PROJECT 375, Brandon Marshall.
  2. We’re blogging about mental health at school all month long – like this one about a new study from Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation. Stay up-to-date on all of our #BeTheDifference blogs and share them with your networks.
  3. Check out this infographic about youth mental health challenges at school, and spread the word on social media.
  4. Have you made an impact with Mental Health First Aid in a school setting? We want to hear your story! Email EricaH@TheNationalCouncil.org to share your story for a chance to be featured on the blog.

As the school year unfolds, balancing mental health with other responsibilities can be a challenge. Thank you for doing your part to ensure that parents, teachers and caregivers have the tools they need to be successful in and out of the classroom.
