As a Mental Health First Aider, you’re part of a nationwide movement that’s expanding every day. To help ensure the valuable lessons from Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) last a lifetime, we encourage First Aiders who completed the Adult or Youth MHFA course three or more years ago to recertify. This keeps you up to date with the latest insights on mental health and substance use challenges and prepares you to provide support to someone in your community who may need it.
Recertification is simple, affordable and online. Get it done in under 60 minutes for just $29.95.
Your MHFA certification is valid for three years. When your Adult or Youth MHFA certification expires, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to purchase and access your recertification course.
Please note: You also have the option to retake the full-length Adult or Youth MHFA course to maintain your certification as a Mental Health First Aider, rather than the recertification course. You can find an upcoming course through our Find-a-Course tool.
Grab a cup of coffee and dive in! The recertification course includes a refresher on the MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE), recognizing when a person needs MHFA and how to apply the MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE) when providing aid.
Upon course completion, you’ll automatically receive a new Certificate of Completion for download.
Our mission is to ensure that everyone in America has at least one First Aider within their close circle of friends, family and peers. Every 1 in 15 people should be certified to recognize, understand and respond to mental health and substance use challenges.
Complete your recertification today and commit to being the 1 in 15 who can make a difference. #BeThe1In15
