As area suicides rise, so do prevention efforts

Clete Winkelmann said they have applied for a federal grant of nearly $400,000 that would boost the community’s awareness of mental health issues and provide mental health first aid training, not only to medical and social service professionals, but adults and youth in the community who may come in contact with friends or relatives struggling mentally and emotionally.
