Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) USA has trained more than 4 million people across the country to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges. And we’re not done yet.
We want everyone in America to have at least one First Aider in their close circle of friends, family and peers. Every 1 in 15 people should be certified to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges. Together, we will reach millions more.
Join us in celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month this May by promoting mental wellbeing resources using #BeThe1in15 on social media, practicing self-care, sharing powerful stories and helping ensure everyone has at least one First Aider in their close circle of friends, family and peers.

Mental Health First Aiders choose to #BeThe1in15 every day. We are grateful for everything First Aiders do to take care of their own mental wellbeing and support those around them to create healthy, happy and safe communities across the country. Check out a few of their impactful stories below.
Throughout May, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and the National Council for Mental Wellbeing on LinkedIn and join the conversation by using #BeThe1in15.
