Wauwatosa school program aims to eliminate mental illness stigma

When a high school athlete breaks his arm, he walks down the hallways with a cast and “everybody says it’s really cool,” said Fred Robinson, Tosa United coordinator for the Wauwatosa School District. Equally, when a classmate is home sick with the flu, they’ll receive well-wishing messages from friends at school. But when a student is battling mental health issues, there’s often nothing but silence, Robinson said.
