Training to identify mental health needs provides practical help

A few years ago, while walking in Baltimore, Lori Montis unexpectedly put her mental health first aid training to work.

She was in Baltimore for a conference and came across a man who she said “seemed like he was struggling.” She walked beside him to see whether she could help. “As we walked kind of alongside each other, I just had a conversation with him.”
