Counties team up on mental health first aid

Alisha Young’s job in the Scio school district is to help young people transition from high school into jobs or college life, especially special education students.

But Young also often finds herself acting as a sounding board for teens who feel alone or confused and sometimes considering suicide.

That’s why she recently attended a day-long mental health first aid training session at the Reimer Building on the Samaritan Albany General Hospital campus.
